Sarah has been recognised as a Rising Star in Doyle’s 2024 Guide to the Australian Legal Market.
She commenced her career working in various roles providing access to justice for victims of gender based violence. Sarah then worked as the Associate a Senior Justice of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1 and Division 2), which provided her invaluable experience in both the appellate and first instance jurisdiction of the court, as well as an in depth knowledge of the court process, before joining Pearson Emerson Family Lawyers in 2021.
Sarah works across a broad range of family law matters but predominately specialises in:
Property and financial matters involving complex structures including trusts, companies and businesses and issues of legal and commercial complexity;
Financial Agreements, including pre-nuptial Agreements, during the relationship agreements and post-separation agreements and agreements with an international element;
Parenting matters, including international disputes and matters involving family violence;
Child support, spouse maintenance and enforcement matters.
She is committed to achieving the best possible outcome for her clients, with a particular focus on achieving commercial outcomes through alternate dispute resolution, and if necessary through litigation.
Sarah also currently serves as the Chair of the Young Lawyers Family Law Committee of the NSW Law Society, as an Executive Councillor of the NSW Young lawyers and a member of the Law Society's Family Law Committee and Ethics Committee. She presents on issues in family law including through the NSW Law Society, University of New South Wales and Legalwise and contributes to papers including most recently contributing to the Australian Chapter of the Thomson Reuters 6th Edition Family Law Blue Book and the 2022 and 2023 "Latest and Greatest" paper presented by sitting FCFCOA judges at the Law Council of Australia's Family Law Section's Family Law Intensive.
She graduated with Honours in Law and is admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria and holds a practising certificate in NSW.
